Andy Murray beat Juan Martin Del Potro 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 Sunday in the opening group match of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals. Del Potro was troubled by unforced errors and a bloody nose that required medical treatment after the third game of the first set. He didn't seem bothered, saying he has a history of nosebleeds. "I have a big nose, that's the problem," the Argentine said. "It's just bleeding, I don't know why.

ATP says it can't reopen Agassi drug case

The ATP Tour will not reopen a doping case against Andre Agassi even though he admitted to lying about using crystal meth in 1997. Agassi revealed in his recent autobiography that he failed a 1997 drug test, a result he says was thrown out after he lied by claiming he "unwittingly" took crystal meth. However, ATP chairman Adam Helfant said on Friday that there was no way to sanction the American retroactively since he has retired from tennis.

Djokovic leaving Adidas for new sponsor in '10

Novak Djokovic is leaving Adidas for Sergio Tacchini, the same brand worn by his idols. Djokovic said Saturday he has signed a 10-year sponsorship deal with the Italian company starting next year. He said "my own idols Pete Sampras and John McEnroe have won almost all titles ... wearing the Sergio Tacchini logo." The third-ranked Serb announced the deal on the eve of the ATP World Tour finals in London.

Andy Roddick has reportedly lost his battle to be fit for the ATP World Tour finals. Roddick, ranked No. 6, has withdrawn from the eight-man end of season tournament which begins in London on Sunday, The Times of London and Spanish sports newspaper Marca said on their Web sites on Tuesday. Roddick has been struggling to overcome the knee injury that forced him to pull out of his match against Stanislas Wawrinka in the opening round of the Shanghai Masters last month.

Del Potro to play at Queen's Club tournament

U.S. Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro will play at next year's Queen's Club tournament in an effort to improve his grasscourt game ahead of Wimbledon. The fifth-ranked Argentine beat Roger Federer in the U.S. Open final but has never advanced past the second round in three appearances at Wimbledon. Del Potro says "this is the perfect opportunity for me to improve my game on the surface. Many players have done well at Queen's in the past and then gone on to win at Wimbledon.
