In the spirit of taking a holiday, we’ve compiled our travel musts and wants. Some are practical (a camera) while others are fantastical (U-shaped luggage).

This week’s muses: Alexa Chung outside of Louis Vuitton, Frida Gustavsson, Anja Rubik, Lou Doillon at the Moncler dinner, and yes, Kate Bosworth.

Sure, Scott Schuman rarely puts images up immediately, and Garance typically does one meaty piece a day anyways. But in general, we felt like there just wasn’t as much content as in the past few seasons. Even Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil, who was pulling double duty by working for his own site and Style.com, proclaimed via Twitter: “There’s a famine of street style this season!”

But was there really? It’s pretty difficult to prove, given the fact that there are seemingly more photographers circling the tents each year. So we went straight to the source–Phil Oh, also known as the Street Peeper–for his take on the situation.

He says that, yes, there probably was less from your favorite photogs. But why? For one, they need to save a lot of the images they take for paying publications. What’s more, pure street style photography is increasingly difficult to accomplish.

“Fashion weeks have become so chaotic recently with so many new photogs,” says Oh. “When I first started doing fashion weeks three or four years ago, it was pretty much just the Japanese, Bill Cunningham, Sartorialist, Jak&Jil, Facehunter, me, and a couple of others. It was fun, leisurely, and a lot more civilized. You had time to build somewhat of a rapport with the subjects.”

Unfortunately, there’s little chance to make those natural connections these days. “Throw in a ton of new bloggers, clueless aggressive paparazzi assholes who even more clueless magazines hire, and random modelizer dudes, and the scene is more like a rugby scrum,” he explains. “It’s a bit discouraging.”

Were you happy with this season’s street style? Or disappointed?

Really? Those are necessary?

Necessary enough to launch a new business off of? I truly thought I was being punked, but apparently these padded panties are for real. Omar got back to me–Period Panties have been featured on The Tyra Banks Show. We don’t typically run personal hygiene stories here on Fashionista–not even in the beauty section–but I truly am curious. (PS, you’re supposed to wear them in conjunction with a tampon or pad. Not in lieu of.)

Would you use these? Are these the next Spanx? Am I just being a prude?

Aside from the incomprehensible plot and the platitude of product placement, including 1950s mainstay WonderBread, Gaga’s own headphones, and a dating website… the fashion in the video was truly the star.

Today, Nicola Formichetti, Gaga’s stylist (and genius in his own right), posted still images of the video on his blog, detailing the looks and crediting the designers.

Some are sheer brilliance, like Gaga’s Thierry Mugler ensemble. These are careful plays on what it means to be a pop artist in a truly pop society. Others are classic pop, like her studded bikini, embodying the volatile video star look.

J.Crew’s been doing bridal for years now. Anthropologie recently hopped on the bandwagon. Cynthia Rowley just announced that she’s creating a collection of bridesmaid dresses. Even Rodarte–hardly the brand you’d associate with weddings–showed several chapel-appropriate gowns for Fall 2010.

In a sort of a grand finale to all the bridal commotion, haute flash sale site Gilt Groupe is throwing a wedding extravaganza, with discounts on ecru dresses from Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and of course, Vera Wang.

Since the well for designer discount collaborations may be drying up, expanding into to bridal seems like a great way to for brands to diversify product right now. And hopefully make more money.

Fight Club: Model Rie Rasmussen snapped at photographer Terry Richardson, reports Page Six. At a recent party in Paris, Rasmussen told Richardson she thinks he degrades women. An embarrassed Richardson fled the club and later called her agency to complain about her behavior. {Page Six}

Consider eVe without adam. Just launched last month, the Berlin-based fashion and culture platform aims to bridge the gap between highly personal blogs and news reporting.

But what really distinguishes the site is its list of contributors: A group of 25 girls.

Located in places like Ibiza, Barcelona, London, Toronto, New York and Berlin, these contributors have individual blogs on the site where they write about their latest discoveries in both English and German.

While the team is large, consistency is actually key: Besides each woman’s individual blog, eVe without adam publishes around ten news items per day. Impressive indeed, especially given that the two original founders, Michal Tesler and Mayra Fateh, still have full-time jobs at famous trade show Bread & Butter.

In between blogging and Bread & Butter, Tesler and Fateh sat down with Fashionista for their very first interview on eVe without adam.

Fashionista: Why did you establish eVe without adam with 25 girls instead of simply on your own?
eVe without adam: Wth eVe without adam, we wanted to create a community. We believe there’s more energy in the project this way. And we knew a lot of women with blogs so we figured it’d be much easier to combine them. Our bloggers are all friends who we picked for this based on what they do and where they’re from. We have designers, actresses, dancers. There’s a great variety, but they all have either a creative profession or a creative hobby. We also have a mum on board because we wanted to show who today’s woman really is.

How did the strong international focus come about?
A couple of our bloggers write in German, but the main language on eVe without adam is English. We didn’t want to limit ourselves to one city and feel like we live in this digital age where Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Skype play key roles. And we would like to show that while we’re all women living in different corners of the world, we’re still somehow connected through the things we talk about on eVe without adam.

How do you manage the platform’s content? Do you have virtual meetings?
No, the bloggers can write whenever and about whatever they want to. We don’t have an impact on that. And then, the two of us write the posts on the main news page and we see each other every day.

What did your colleagues at Bread & Butter say when you started eVe without adam?
Bread & Butter has really been pushing us and supporting the project. In fact, some of our colleagues check eVe without adam on a daily basis. And ‘BBB by uslu airlines’ [a nail polish line created in collaboration between Bread & Butter and cosmetics brand Uslu Airlines] is also one of our first advertisers on the website.

Can you tell me more about your advertisers?
Well there’s Nike for instance. We had participated in the Nike True City App a while back and have a great connection to the girls in the Nike office here in Berlin. So it was very much a case of women helping women. In general, with advertising, we would like to make sure that we stay individual by working with brands that are in line with who we are and what we do. Because we’re all women and very emotionally involved.

So – there’s the main news page, the blogs, the weekly question. Do you involve your readers at all?
There will be changes in that respect, especially with the questions asked in the Green Apple section. At the moment, readers can comment on the answers that our contributors leave. But there will be a lot more focus on the network and we are aiming to make this as interactive as possible.

Did you get any requests from outside bloggers yet who would like to get involved?
Yes we have already received requests and would love to hear from more, but at the same time, we have to be selective about this. We can’t have like a hundred bloggers on there and we do analyse each and every request multiple times considering in how far this specific blogger would fit in with eVe without adam and how she could add input. But women from Paris, Amsterdam and L.A. are likely to be next on our list.

What about bloggers in cities that are more under-the-radar?
To us, the woman is actually more important than where she is from. It’s a nice coincidence if we know a great woman living in a great city. So that woman could also come from a very unusual city. Like Freetown.

This perfume includes Indian tuberose and Italian blood orange, amongst other less organic-sounding ingredients. What I like about the new scent–other than the fact that the box is covered in a print from the Prada archives–is that the rose they used is very young, which means it won’t have that old-lady-in-a-church smell.

But for those who just can’t stand roses, the brand’s introducing a vétiver scent, too. Both arrive in stores–including Neiman Marcus and Barneys–come April.
