KnockoutJS is taking the ASP.Net world by storm. DotNetNuke 6.2 will include several core features which rely heavily on KnockoutJS. In Part 1 and Part 2 of my Introduction to KnockoutJS series I discussed some of the basics of bindings which are at the heart of KnockoutJS. Later this week, Ill continue my series on KnockoutJS. In the meantime I wanted to highlight a great learning opportunity for those who are interested in learning how to use KnockoutJS with DotNetNuke. Given its usage in DotNetNuke...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?
After nearly 7 months, the finish line is finally in sight. With the final touches applied to the product over the past few weeks, we are confident that we are on track for an exciting new product release. As a bit of a refresher on the release terminology that we use in the DotNetNuke community, I would encourage you to read the blog written by Joe Brinkman last year titled "What's In A Name?". The blog explains that by the time we hit a Release Candidate, the product is pretty much frozen....
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? Message center is one central place to manage all sorts of communication in the DotNetNuke framework. Users can read and send messages; read notifications and take action on them all from within one single UI....
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?
Every week it seems more and more people are asking me how they can run DotNetNuke on Windows Azure. Last year David Rodriguez released the DotNetNuke Azure Accelerator which aims to simplify the process of installing DotNetNuke on Windows Azure. It was a great alternative to manually deploying DotNetNuke but it required the user to know how to use the Windows Azure Management Portal for setting up their Azure account. The original version of the accelerator also included the DotNetNuke installation...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?
Also known as a sunset or end-of-life policy, an obsolescence policy describes the terms and conditions for phasing out support for older versions of a software product. This does not mean the software will no longer continue to function; however, it does mean that the product will no longer be actively maintained by the software provider and some forms of technical support may no longer be available. When we released DotNetNuke 6.0 in July 2011, we made a decision to focus all of our software...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?
Ive been playing around with the new DNN Service Framework a little since the CTP 1 came out. As a module developer this is a very interesting addition to the framework (and one Ive been asking for, for a while). In fact, I think it is the most significant change in 6.2. But then, Ive always been into DNN because of the power of the framework. As so many new additions to the framework, this starts out as a request from the community that then gets specced, scoped and what have you. Then we see it...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? On the other hand, if they're wanting to expose module services externally in a standardized way, then the Service Framework and coming Service Layer API's will be a major boon. Indeed, we're taking that approach with some of our own modules in DotNetNuke v6.2, examples being messaging, the...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? Ill be presenting at the Denver DotNetNuke Users Group meeting on Wednesday, March 21st, 2012, at 6pm, here is the pertinent info. This is their first meeting since March 2010, though it should be the first of many to come.
DotNetNuke 6.2 CTP 1: Maximum Roles

 <pheedo:origLink>http://dotnetslackers.com/DotNetNuke/re-662467_DotNetNuke_6_2_CTP_1_Maximum_Roles.aspx</pheedo:origLink>

DotNetNuke 6.2.0 removes the maximum roles limitation of previous versions. Many developers are aware that, prior to version 6.2.0, a semi-colon delimited list of roles was saved in the user's cookie. As the cookie has a fixed size, this effectively limits the number of roles to which a user could belong to about 50 (the actual limit depends on the names used for the roles shorter role names would increase the maximum limit slightly).Category: Development...
Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors?
