In evaluating and selecting a face tracking solution for camera-enabled products, it is extremely important to employ the correct methodology for an effective face tracking test. This video illustrates applications of face tracking and describes appropriate tests for evaluating face tracking performance, including setting up the test environment and selecting your subjects. It also highlights some of the common mistakes you will want to avoid.

Over the span of 45 minutes to 1 hour, test experts Steve Mulawski and John Ziegler of octoScope will provide a thorough understanding of what signal integrity is all about, from a basic definition to signal-integrity test and how to interpret and make proper use of an 'eye diagram' and today's test equipment to bring your design to a successful, trouble-free conclusion. </P>

Along the way, through diagrams, photographs and video demonstrations, you'll be introduced bandwidth/amplitude accuracy, harmonics, edge-speed considerations, lumped-element circuits, impedance, transmission-line discontinuities, lossy lines, inter-symbol interference, jitter and the implications of oscilloscope bandwidth when making measurements.

The MOSFET (metal -oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) is a near-ideal three-terminal component used for linear and switching applications. After a brief overview of the MOSFET's internal structure and operation, this course looks at critical and relevant device parameters to consider when using MOSFETs in their most common switching applications, such basic AC-line control, power-supply design, and motor control (via H-bridge and other topologies).
Among the parameters explored are on-resistance, switching time, and thermal performance. The course will also explore important associated issues such as the MOSFET driver and driver requirements (including isolated versus non-isolated drive), circuit protection, packaging, and paralleling MOSFETs, plus design issues and potential problems to take into aware of.

This training describes the operation of the Programmable Real-Time Unit Subsystem (PRUSS). The PRUSS consists of dual 32-bit RISC cores (referred to as Programmable Real-Time Units, or PRUs), an interrupt controller, local data and instruction memories, and interfaces to capture and manipulate system-wide events and pins. The PRU instruction set is simple and execution times are deterministic. The programmable nature of the PRUs, along with their access to pins and events, provide flexibility in implementing custom peripheral interfaces, power saving techniques, specialized data handling and DMA operations, and in offloading tasks from the other processor cores of the system-on-chip (SoC).

In this course, viewers will be presented with an overview of what networked audio truly represents, its applications and current trends. They will then be guided through the Microsoft and Apple ecosystem and how the differ, before starting on an overview of the underlying technologies that make networked audio possible, from the OSI model, TCP/IP stack and protocols to the wired and wireless interface standards that transport the signals. This will be followed by an examination of the many issues that can arise when implementing a networked audio application and how they can be addressed.

For every application there is a preferred memory technology and implementation approach, whether it be DRAM, non-volatile RAM, SRAM, flash (NOR or NAND), ROM, EEPROM or any combination of the above. Add to that the many variations and advances in each of the various memory technologies in terms of size, cost and speed, as well as the development of newer memory architectures such as phase-change memory (PCM), ferroelectric RAM (FRAM) and magneto RAM (MRAM), and making the optimum choice for any application at a given moment in time becomes an interesting matrix-solving exercise.

LEDs are the hottest light source for designers, because they run so cool and seem so simple to interface and drive. They are used as basic indicators, for alphanumeric displays, and for illumination.

This fundamentals course will look at their use for large-area illumination (street lamps, rooms), and display backlighting. Despite the presumed simplicity of using LEDs, the reality is more complex and nuanced. Issues covered here include LED array topologies and tradeoffs, power-supply configurations, LED and power-source reliability, safety standards, EMI/RFI concerns, and power factor considerations.
