Over the span of 45 minutes to 1 hour, test experts Steve Mulawski and John Ziegler of octoScope will provide a thorough understanding of what signal integrity is all about, from a basic definition to signal-integrity test and how to interpret and make proper use of an 'eye diagram' and today's test equipment to bring your design to a successful, trouble-free conclusion. </P>

Along the way, through diagrams, photographs and video demonstrations, you'll be introduced bandwidth/amplitude accuracy, harmonics, edge-speed considerations, lumped-element circuits, impedance, transmission-line discontinuities, lossy lines, inter-symbol interference, jitter and the implications of oscilloscope bandwidth when making measurements.

The MOSFET (metal -oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) is a near-ideal three-terminal component used for linear and switching applications. After a brief overview of the MOSFET's internal structure and operation, this course looks at critical and relevant device parameters to consider when using MOSFETs in their most common switching applications, such basic AC-line control, power-supply design, and motor control (via H-bridge and other topologies).
Among the parameters explored are on-resistance, switching time, and thermal performance. The course will also explore important associated issues such as the MOSFET driver and driver requirements (including isolated versus non-isolated drive), circuit protection, packaging, and paralleling MOSFETs, plus design issues and potential problems to take into aware of.

In this course, viewers will be presented with an overview of what networked audio truly represents, its applications and current trends. They will then be guided through the Microsoft and Apple ecosystem and how the differ, before starting on an overview of the underlying technologies that make networked audio possible, from the OSI model, TCP/IP stack and protocols to the wired and wireless interface standards that transport the signals. This will be followed by an examination of the many issues that can arise when implementing a networked audio application and how they can be addressed.

This training describes the operation of the Programmable Real-Time Unit Subsystem (PRUSS). The PRUSS consists of dual 32-bit RISC cores (referred to as Programmable Real-Time Units, or PRUs), an interrupt controller, local data and instruction memories, and interfaces to capture and manipulate system-wide events and pins. The PRU instruction set is simple and execution times are deterministic. The programmable nature of the PRUs, along with their access to pins and events, provide flexibility in implementing custom peripheral interfaces, power saving techniques, specialized data handling and DMA operations, and in offloading tasks from the other processor cores of the system-on-chip (SoC).

The analog domain describes the way things typically work in the real world. By comparison, the digital domain is useful when it comes to storing and manipulating data and making complex decisions based on the results of its data-processing operations. Most people think of FPGAs as being primarily digital devices, but a certain class of mixed-signal FPGAs provide a mixture of programmable analog fabric combined with programmable digital fabric. This opens the door to a wide range of applications along with some very interesting techniques, such as using a soft microprocessor core in the digital fabric to reconfigure the programmable analog fabric on-the-fly.

A basic building block in power supply design, linear regulators provide an inexpensive, low noise, and easy-to-use solution for delivering the stable DC voltages needed to power the analog and digital electronics in applications of every type. Yet there's more to these devices than meets the eye - as many an unwary designer has found out. This course will offer designers - especially those working with digital circuits - an overview geared to help them better select and use these vital components.

ESC SV-543- Understanding Sensorless Vector Control for Brushless DC Motors

http://www.techonline.com/learning/course/210600313?&cid=RSSfeed_tol_mostpopularcoursesRSS

This class covers sensorless vector control formulation for Brushless DC (BLDC) motors and its implementation techniques. The class starts with basic theory in terms of BLDC motor model, vector control principle, Clark & Park transformation, PWM modulation, flux observer, and speed and position estimation. Vector control based on sensor and its normal processing is briefly explained. Then the class focuses on processing for a sensorless vector control that does not use position or speed sensors. Specific implementation of the motor model based flux observer and overall sensorless vector control implementation strategy is described. Also, techniques for measuring currents via conventional sensors and using one-shunt reconstruction are explained. Finally, this class demonstrates the performance of sensorless vector control regarding speed regulation and CPU bandwidth usage.
