The MOSFET (metal -oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) is a near-ideal three-terminal component used for linear and switching applications. After a brief overview of the MOSFET's internal structure and operation, this course looks at critical and relevant device parameters to consider when using MOSFETs in their most common switching applications, such basic AC-line control, power-supply design, and motor control (via H-bridge and other topologies). Among the parameters explored are on-resistance, switching time, and thermal performance. This training describes the operation of the Programmable Real-Time Unit Subsystem (PRUSS). The PRUSS consists of dual 32-bit RISC cores (referred to as Programmable Real-Time Units, or PRUs), an interrupt controller, local data and instruction memories, and interfaces to capture and manipulate system-wide events and pins. The PRU instruction set is simple and execution times are deterministic.
